1st Cyber Security exhibition and seminars in Finland

At the beginning of September Finland’s first Cyber Security exhibition and seminars will be staged in Jyväskylä. Guest speakers will include leading experts in cyber security from North America and elsewhere. The first week of September is cyber security week in Jyväskylä. Experts in cyber security will gather in Jyväskylä from 2.–5.9. for Finland’s first Cyber Security exhibition at Jyväskylä Paviljonki (3.–5.9.), seminars, workshops, a cyber security congress and Finland’s Cyber Security arena. In the course of the week cyber security specialists from the world of education and science as well as different companies will come face to face. At the seminar arranged by Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes Ltd and the University of Jyväskylä on Thursday 4.9. the speakers will include leading professors in cyber security, Prof. Dipankar Dasgupta (Department of Computer Science, University of Memphis, USA) and Prof. John R. Williams (MIT, USA).”The week as a whole will constitute the first event ever held in Finland focusing specifically on cyber security and extending over several days. The aim is to boost awareness of cyber security and to stage a gathering of such high standard that it can be successfully repeated in years to come”, says Mika Kataikko, Director, Cyber Security at Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes Ltd. “The seminars will deal with safeguarding critical infrastructure and also look at where cyber security is likely to go in the future. At the same time there will be a focus on important themes from a corporate perspective, such as factors posing a threat to companies, business potential in this area, as well as future development trends”, explains Professor Pekka Neittaanmäki from the University of Jyväskylä. JYVSECTEC (Jyväskylä Security Technology), the cyber security research, education and development centre based at JAMK University of Applied Sciences’ IT Institute, will arrange a cyber security seminar on the opening day (3.9.) of the Cyber Security exhibition. At the seminar cyber security will be examined from a number of perspectives, societal, corporate and business. The occasion is aimed at companies and private persons, both decision-makers and specialists.
